Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the GAIMS Portal operated by the Global Association of Indian Medical Students (GAIMS). Please read them carefully before using the Platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the GAIMS Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not access or use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

The GAIMS Portal is strictly for individuals 18 years of age and above. To use the Platform, you must be:

  • A current or prospective medical student, or
  • An authorized GAIMS official, administrator, or personnel

Use of the Platform by individuals under 18 years of age is strictly prohibited. Please refer to our Child Safety Policy for further details.

3. Your Account

You are solely responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials. Specifically, you agree to:

  • Keep your password secure and not share it with any other person
  • Notify GAIMS immediately at support@gaims.org if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account credentials

4. Permitted Use

You may use the GAIMS Portal only for lawful purposes directly related to GAIMS membership activities, event participation, research, education, committee work, and other authorized organizational activities. All use must comply with these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Child Safety Policy.

5. Prohibited Use

You must not use the GAIMS Portal to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or legal obligation
  • Upload, share, or transmit harmful, offensive, defamatory, or prohibited content (including any content covered by our Child Safety Policy)
  • Impersonate another user, official, or any person or organization
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform, its systems, or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt Platform operations, servers, networks, or security measures
  • Use the Platform for commercial, promotional, or advertising purposes without prior written authorization from GAIMS
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Platform in an automated manner without written consent

6. User Content

By uploading or submitting any content to the GAIMS Portal (including profile information, documents, and files), you grant GAIMS a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and process that content for organizational and operational purposes. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you submit complies with these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and platform policies.

7. Intellectual Property

All GAIMS branding, logos, platform design, materials, and content are the intellectual property of GAIMS or its licensors and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or publicly display any GAIMS content without express prior written permission from GAIMS.

8. Termination

GAIMS reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, without prior notice, for violations of these Terms, the Child Safety Policy, the Privacy Policy, or any other applicable GAIMS policy. GAIMS may also terminate access for conduct that GAIMS reasonably determines is harmful to other users, the organization, or third parties.

9. Limitation of Liability

The GAIMS Portal is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • GAIMS does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components
  • GAIMS is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform
  • GAIMS's total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to GAIMS in the twelve months preceding the claim

10. Changes to Terms

GAIMS may update these Terms of Use at any time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on this page. Your continued use of the GAIMS Portal after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
